Record height in Rzeszów

fischer secures Poland’s tallest residential building, Olszynki Park

Record height in Rzeszów

With an architectural height of 220.67 metres, Olszynki Park is setting new standards in Polish high-rise construction. The project surpasses the previous record holder, Wrocław’s Sky Tower (212 metres), to take the top spot. The exposed building height, construction volume and sophisticated architecture required anchoring solutions with maximum load-bearing capacity. Mechanical and chemical fastening systems from fischer ensure the permanent transfer of loads in different base materials and reliably protect the building structure against dynamic forces.

Precision without compromise at extreme building heights

The construction of a high-rise building of this scale demands absolute dimensional accuracy from all planners and contractors. Safety-critical components must function flawlessly under real construction site conditions.

„The choice of fixing technology is far more than an implementation detail – it is a key safety factor for the entire structure. That is why the companies responsible chose our proven systems, which are used wherever reliability and the consistent implementation of planning are the highest priority.“ says Artur Hoffman, Country Manager of fischer Poland.

Collaborative partnership as a success factor

Large-scale projects can only succeed through reliable interfaces between manufacturers and installation companies. The executing company Reconal has worked closely with fischer for over a decade. Roman Kotuła, Project Manager at Reconal, reveals: „Two factors are decisive for us when choosing fischer: the high quality of the products and the comprehensive technical support – from installation optimisation to support from fischer engineers with complex technical calculations.“ The close integration of both partners made a significant contribution to accelerating work processes and implementing the required quality standards on schedule.

Mastering extreme wind and suction loads

At great heights, enormous wind forces act on the façade. The direction and intensity of the loads vary continuously. Pressure and suction forces place particular strain on the façade elements and the intermediate areas between floors. Every anchorage must safely transfer these changing horizontal loads into the supporting structure. Faulty fixings pose significant risks to the building fabric and the surrounding urban environment. fischer systems provide the required structural safety throughout the entire service life.

Coordinated system solutions for reinforced concrete and aerated concrete

Due to the different building materials used in the structure, two specialised fischer fastening solutions were employed.

Secure heavy-duty anchoring in reinforced concrete: For load-bearing connections in concrete, those responsible selected the FAZ II Plus bolt anchor. The proven expansion anchor bears the full load immediately after installation. Its European Technical Assessments (ETAs) guarantee maximum installation safety. Thanks to numerous diameter variants and anchorage depths, the system adapted flexibly to the structural specifications.

Load transfer without expansion pressure in aerated concrete: Due to its porous structure, a chemical system was suitable for aerated concrete. The FIS V Plus universal injection mortar fills the drill hole without voids. After curing, the mortar forms a high-strength bond with the building material. This prevents expansion pressure in the porous base material, protects against edge breakouts and offers high resistance to dynamic loads and vibrations.

Record height demands precision
With a high-rise building of this scale, there is no room for chance.

Cost-effectiveness through efficient installation

Standardised fastening solutions significantly simplify everyday work on the construction site. Structured technical documentation, clearly understandable installation instructions and coordinated tools reduced the installation effort at Olszynki Park. The installation teams were able to carry out anchorages quickly, error-free and ready for inspection. This reduced installation times and ensured the timely construction progress of the major project.
